Home

Welcome to the home of Soli Deo Gloria Ballet! It is our mission to glorify God and tell His story through the powerful and expressive medium of dance, coupled with spoken-word and other art forms. We perform in churches, schools, conferences, workshops, on the street, at special events, and anywhere else we’re invited, as well as hosting camps, teaching workshops, and making the arts more accessible to the church at large. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site.

Summer Arts Camp 2012

Soli Deo Gloria Ballet held our first full arts camp last summer. It was a wonderful time, with a small group of students and a fantastic volunteer staff. This year, we’re doing it all again—only better, of course! We were able not only to impart our skills in the arts, but
through daily Bible studies, morning worship sessions, and relationship building, were also able to point the students to the source of all creativity—God Himself.

This August 13-18, 2012, Canadian Christian ballet company Soli Deo Gloria Ballet will be hosting our second annual arts camp in Stevensville, Ontario. This will be one week of discipleship, arts training, and inspiration!

Ode to the Broken – Now Taking Bookings!
For the 2012 season, we are teaming up with speaker Mercy Hope to present Ode to the Broken, a groundbreaking combination of personal testimony and soul-stirring artistry. Mercy speaks from her background of a childhood of poverty and domestic abuse to the incredible healing power of God. The dance portion of the production features the dramatic choreography of Soli Deo Gloria Ballet’s Carolyn Currey, along with readings by Rachel Starr Thomson. Ode to the Broken is a truly life-changing production that delves deep into brokenness and, especially, the healing that is found in the love of God. This production is uniquely suited for community outreach, ladies events, and parachurch ministry of various kinds. It will be touring Ontario from March 16 – April 6, and the Maritime provinces from August 24 – September 16.

Candle in the Window

An old Irish tradition has it that each Christmas Eve, the holy family still travels the roads of the world. If you would invite them in, you must place a candle in your window to indicate that all strangers are welcome—for you may find that you are welcoming God.

Soli Deo Gloria Ballet’s Candle in the Window invites audiences into the holy mystery of what it means to welcome God into our world—and into our hearts—as the first Christmas becomes a present reality in our lives. SDG Ballet’s unique mix of classical ballet, stirring narrative, live music, and contemporary songs from artists like Rebecca St. James, Avalon, and Sarah McLachlan creates a living meditation on God’s greatest gift to us—Himself.

Now taking bookings for Christmas 2012.
